Spalding man (44) admits inciting under-age girls into sexual activity

A Spalding man has admitted inciting under-age girls to engage in sexual activity.

Roy Hayes (44) pleaded guilty to three sexual offences when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday.(March 20)

The offences related to a 13-year-old girl on April 7, 2014, a 14-year-old girl on October 11, 2012, and a 15-year-old girl on July 30, 2014.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, prosecuting, said the offences came to light after Hayes pleaded guilty to making indecent images and his computer equipment was further analysed by police.

Mr Cranmer-Brown said: “Video footage recovered from his computer made it perfectly plain he was in contact with under-age girls and getting them to do things to themselves for his own sexual gratification.”

Chat logs recovered by the police suggested Hayes had an interest in under-age girls, the court was told.

Mr Cranmer-Brown added: “These offences make it a much more serious case.”

Hayes, of Gaunt Close, was granted bail until May 18 when he will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court.

Judge Simon Hirst agreed to adjourn sentence for the preparation of a probation report but warned Hayes he would now have to comply with the sex offender register.

The judge told him: “You have pleaded guilty to serious matters here.

“I am concerned about you in terms of what risk you might pose to children, so I would like a report on you.”
