South Holland Centre launches survey ahead of reopening

A survey has been launched to get the public’s views on returning to the South Holland Centre and what events it should be looking to put on.

An invitation to the South Holland Centre Customer and Stakeholder Survey has been emailed to customers.

The closing date for submissions is next Thursday (May 20).

As reported in this weeks issue of The Voice, the centre currently has gigs planned for October, but is looking to potentially open earlier if possible.

A spokesman said: “Following the Prime Minister’s statement at the Government’s coronavirus press conference on Monday (May 10), it has been confirmed that national plans for the re-opening of theatres and other entertainment venues are going ahead as planned with our progress along the roadmap.

“We would therefore like to hear from South Holland Centre customers and users about how you are feeling about the return to live events, and what you would like to see at the Centre in the future.

“The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete and will be invaluable to help our team ensure that we reopen the Centre at a time, and with a programme of events, that fits around the needs and wishes of our customers.”

“Thank you for your continued support of the Centre and we hope to see you all again soon.”

Councillor Gary Taylor, South Holland District Council portfolio holder for communities and facilities, said: “As our town centres begin to fully reopen following lockdown, a strong cultural offering is key to help bring the community back together and to provide leisure opportunities for people to enjoy. It also plays a vital role in helping to stimulate our hospitality sector, with a great range of restaurants and pubs near the Centre for people to use before and after shows.

“Despite the Zoom calls, virtual quizzes and online screenings we have become accustomed to, nothing can replace the shared experience of a live event and the positive impact this can have on our mental wellbeing. We want to make sure that as many residents as possible feel safe to return to these events, and that they are relevant and engaging for audiences of all types and ages.

“After over a year without audiences we cannot wait to open the Centre’s doors and start welcoming people in. Thank you to everyone who uses and supports the venue, we hope to see you all again soon.”
