School raises hundreds of pounds for Macmillan

Monkshouse Primary School have raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan with a special day of events.

On September 27 they raised £710 by selling cakes, holding a non-uniform day and buying wish ribbons.

A spokesman for the school said: “Becky Lane and Hayley Hedaux would like to say thank you to all the children, parents and staff who supported Monkshouse Primary School in raising a staggering £710, we couldn’t have done it without you!

“The children loved tying their wish ribbons to the tree in our reflective area. It was heart-warming to hear some of the children’s wishes to make people feel better.”
