Saturday football: Ten-man Holbeach beaten in FA Cup, Pinchbeck United hit TEN

Holbeach United’s fine run in the Emirates FA Cup was ended by a 2-1 defeat at Grantham Town on Saturday, while Pinchbeck United crushed St Andrews 10-1 in the ChromaSport UCL KO Cup.

Starting with the Tigers, a Lee Shaw goal gave Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division side Grantham a 23rd-minute lead in the first round qualifying clash.

Dan Dougill then saw red for an alleged elbow on the half-hour, but the Tigers battled back to level through a Lewis Leckie penalty minutes later.

Grantham restored their lead through Andrew Wright’s controversial 45th-minute penalty.

That proved to be the winner, with Holbeach then having Charley Sanders sent off after the final whistle.

Holbeach now turn their attention to a trip to Deeping Rangers on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Meanwhile, both Andrew Tidswell and Liam Ogden netted hat-tricks as Pinchbeck ran riot against UCL Premier Division side St Andrews at the Sir Halley.

Ollie Maltby (2), Jack Withers and Josh Smith also scored to give Ian Dunn’s side an incredible win.

More to follow.
