Santa Claus is coming to town

After several years, Santa is to return to parading through Holbeach in the run up to Christmas, thanks to a town pub.
John Budworth and Martin Forward, who run The Crown in Holbeach, have organised the Holbeach Santa Swarm.
They’ve had a word with Father Christmas himself who has agreed to sit on the sled they’ve built around town, around Whaplode and at events too.
And they’ll be raising money for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and the East Elloe Hospital NHS Trust that oversees Holbeach Hospital.
John said: “This year has been quite a difficult one for a lot of people so we decided to do something to raise some spirits for Christmas.”
The sled is due to be at The Crown from 4pm to 5.30pm on December 6, Tesco from 11am to 1pm on December 12, at All Saints’ Church on Church Street from 4pm to 5.30pm and back at Tesco on December 19 from 11am to 1pm.
It will tour Holbeach from 5pm on December 19 and Whaplode the following day from 5pm.
For the full route through Holbeach and Whaplode visit The Crown Hotel in Holbeach Facebook page where there’s also links to the Just Giving fundraising page.
