TOUGH DRAW: Pinchbeck boss Ian Dunn.

Rivals Pinchbeck and Moulton to clash in Lincs Cup last 16

South Holland pair Pinchbeck United and Moulton Harrox will clash in the last 16 of the Lincs Junior Cup after both bagged impressive wins on Saturday.

2012 finalists Pinchbeck pulled off the result of the round as they dumped out favourites Skegness Town 2-1 in their own back yard, while Harrox also remain in the hunt to regain the trophy they won back in 2013 after seeing off Skegness United 4-1 at Broad Lane.

Striker Louis Saebe struck the winner for Pinchbeck with six minutes of extra time remaining, with Ollie Maltby having scored in normal time to force the additional period.

Meanwhile, goals from Billy King, Matthew Rose, Joe Townsend and sub David Wilson were enough for Harrox, who will host the last 16 tie on December 13 (1.30pm).

Pinchbeck player/boss Ian Dunn reckons that the winner of the derby will stand a great chance of going all the way in the competition.

He said: “There will obviously be a lot of local interest in this one. To be honest, it’s one of the hardest draws we could have expected.

“Whoever wins will be in the quarter final – and you’d back either side to go on and lift the trophy from there.

“From our point of view, we’ve already beaten the favourites on Saturday – to win these cups, you have to beat the better sides at some stage.

“With the club having never won the competition before, we certainly want to go on and make a bit of history. We’ve got unfinished business with it, having lost the final in my first spell as manager.

“Saturday was a brilliant win. The team are really stepping up to the plate now, having got a great draw at Coates the week before.”

p Tim Lowe was both hero and villain for Long Sutton Athletic on Saturday as they crashed out of the Lincs Junior Cup 3-1 at home to CGB Humbertherm.

Lowe got the Sutton goal at London Road as the sides finished 90 minutes level at 1-1. But he was sent off – and the Magpies were put to the sword in extra time.

There was better news for Spalding Town, though, as they earned an impressive 3-2 victory at Market Rasen Town.

Gary Booth, Scott Burrell and Ryan Wheeler grabbed the goals to keep Town in the hunt for county honours.

They will host much-fancied Horncastle Town in the last 16.
