Rare win for struggling Spalding Town 2nd in a low scoring clash with Grantham

Spalding 2nd picked up only their third win of the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division season on Saturday in what was a low-scoring thriller.

Jamie Juckes’ charges collected maximum points after bowling visitors Grantham 2nd out for 45 in 26 overs, then edging to a nervy 46-7 in reply.

Town’s bowlers shared the wickets well, with Matt Sharpe (3-8) and Brandon Andrews (3-19) bagging three apiece and Julian Wilson (2-6) and Carl Lamming (2-6) finishing the job.

Augustine Udupuzha (15) was the only player to score double figures in Town’s reply, but it was Andrews’ eight not out that got them over the line.
