Raising funds with cake sale

Spalding Parish Day School hosted a cake stall to raise money to help Macmillan Cancer Support do whatever it takes for people living with cancer.

Jess, a Year Five pupil, organised it as part of her ‘Make a Difference Project’.

The children, in Year 5, also hosted a raffle with Macmillan merchandise to win and held a ‘Guess how many sweets in the jar’ competition.

Mrs Cawley, a Macmillan committee member and volunteer, with Mrs Simpson and children from Year 5 ran the stall which raised £186.16.

A school spokesman said: “The school had so many donations of cakes from across the whole school community and would like to say a big thank you.

“There was a fantastic response and the weather even held.”
