Please consider donating a gift

As the festive season creeps ever closer, we are asking you to support our Give A Gift campaign and help make a child smile this Christmas.

While you are doing your Christmas shopping if you would consider buying an extra gift to donate to our campaign it would be very much appreciated.

This year the appeal is more important than ever, with many more families across the district struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The appeal is being managed a little differently this year to allow us to comply with government guidelines regarding the lockdown and social distancing, so for this reason we have less collection points.

The Spalding Voice office is currently closed to the public but if you have a gift for the appeal you can knock and leave it on the doorstep.

You can also drop your gift off at Courtyard Footcare, Health and Beauty, 66 Swan Street, Spalding, 10am-3pm, Monday to Thursday.

Alternatively if you would like to order a present online, please arrange for it to be delivered to DGG Property Consultants, Welland Workspace, 10 Pinchbeck Road, Spalding, PE11 1QD.

The appeal helps ensure less fortunate children aged between three and 14 years old have a gift to open on December 25.

Coun Harry Drury founded the campaign in partnership with the Spalding and South Holland Voice nine years ago.

He said: “This year, due to the pandemic, we can only accept new toys and as usual we are unable to accept cuddly toys, make-up, toiletries or food and perishable items due to health and safety.

“The presents can be of any value to suit your budget, we are however unable to accept money,” he added.

Gifts can be donated unwrapped at The Voice’s Goodison Road offices at the Lincs Gateway Business Park, Spalding, until 5pm on Monday, December 14.

The offices are open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Please do not leave gifts at the door if the office is closed.

All presents will go to South Holland and Boston Child Services to distribute in time for Christmas

  • We cannot accept soft toys for our appeal however Mark Le Sage is once again running Donate A Cuddle, an appeal for new cuddly toys.
The Spalding Voice office is also a collection point for this campaign, so you are welcome to bring your soft toys here following the same guidelines.
