Pinchbeck United complete unbeaten September with their best showing yet

Ian Dunn saluted Pinchbeck United’s “best performance of the season” as they beat Ketton 2-0 in the ChromaSport Peterborough Premier Division on Saturday.

Goals from Tony Edwards (15) and Corban Oldham (60) were enough for Pinchbeck at Knight Street, as they jumped up to sixth in the table.

It was a day of positives for Dunn’s side, as they handed a debut to new signing Dan Woods and also stretched their unbeaten run to five games – making it an unbeaten September.

Woods, who has won various PDFL trophies over the years with both Pinchbeck and Moulton Harrox, could easily have marked his debut with a few goals.

But his boss is convinced the ex-March Town man will be a massive hit.

Dunn said: “We looked very comfortable in possession and made no silly mistakes. It was total domination in the first half – and we could have had four or five goals if I’m honest.

“They came back into it when we went 2-0 up, but we rode the storm well.

“It was great to just sit back and watch the lads deliver – I’d say it was our best performance so far.

“The clean sheet really pleased me, as did having Dan Woods in the side.

“You can already see what a massive impact he’ll have on the team.

“He’ll be the first to say that he could have scored a hat-trick, but he’s a little rusty at the moment after a few weeks away.

“Once he’s up to speed he’ll be a big player for us and will improve the entire team no end.”
