Pinchbeck United chief Dunn not taking anything for granted ahead of Kirby Muxloe trip

Having disposed of basement boys Wellingborough Whitworth 5-1 on Tuesday night, it’s a trip to second-from-bottom Kirby Muxloe for Pinchbeck United on Saturday (3pm).

However, Knights player/boss Dunn feels that the Future Lions UCL Premier Division trip to Ratby Lane will be a much tougher test for his side.

He added: “I don’t think they are a bad side.

“Obviously they are down there, but they are a tougher prospect at their own ground.

“We need to be mindful of that.”

Striker Alex Beck, signed from Wisbech Town on Monday, made his debut on Tuesday – and Dunn feels that he’s now got a leading goalscorer on his hands.

The player/boss said: “At his best, Alex is a 40-goal a season striker in the UCL Premier Division.

“He’d not been playing regularly with Wisbech, so he decided that he wanted to drop back down. We spoke on Sunday and I’m delighted to have got him to come here.

“There’s no pressure on him. He’ll have time to settle in and I’m convinced that the goals will follow.”

Tyler Wright, who left Pinchbeck last week, has signed for higher-graded Wisbech Town.

Pinchbeck, currently fifth in the league table, are also in action next Tuesday night when they visit Peterborough Northern Star in the semi-final of the Hinchingbrooke Cup (7.45pm).

The victors will meet Godmanchester Rovers in the final.
