PDFL round-up: Compton at the double as Holbeach Reserves go third, Borges bags four for Pinchbeck A

Kyle Compton helped himself to a brace of goals to inspire Holbeach United Reserves to a 4-0 victory at Leverington Sports on Saturday.

Cameron Lee and sub Tom Coote also netted for the Tigers’ second string, as they moved up to third place in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division table.

With seven wins from 11 games, they are just six points behind leader Stilton United with two games in hand.

Divisional rivals Crowland Town also picked up a fine victory as they saw off Wittering Premiair 3-1 at Snowden Field.

Strikes from Giuliano Staffieri, Lawrence Stewart and Matt Smith sent them up to sixth in the table, just a point behind Wittering.

In Division One, Tydd are up to fourth following a 3-2 home success over FC Peterborough.

Brad Easey (7) netted in the first half for Tydd, but an Arslan Ali double put the visitors 2-1 up at the break.

However, Matt Eaton (64) and Matt Cousins (86) fired the hosts to glory.

Moulton Harrox Reserves, meanwhile, went down 4-2 at leaders Warboys Town.

Daniel Lambe-Hyner and Josh McGuire scored for Kev Nottingham’s side, but the table-toppers had too much for them.

Also beaten were rock bottom Crowland Town Reserves, as they went down 4-1 at Whittlesey Athletic Reserves despite an early strike from Fabio Rodrigues.

That trend continued with Pinchbeck United Reserves, who slipped up 3-0 at Cardea.

All of the goals came in the first half through James Ware (11), Isaac Myrie (37) and Declan King (39).

In Division Two, Long Sutton Reserves grabbed their second league win of the season as they edged out Glinton and Northborough 4-3.

Aron John (2), Simon Adcock and Jamie Taylor did the job for the Magpies.

Down in Division Four, leaders Sutton Bridge United suffered a rare home defeat as they were on the receiving end of a fine Thorpe Wood Rangers comeback.

A Ben English double had Bridge 2-0 to the good at half-time, but strikes from Jordan Giddings (2) and Ethan Bennet gave the visitors a 3-2 victory at Memorial Park.

In Division Five, Holbeach Bank are fourth after a 2-0 win at Leverington Sports A thanks to Jack Earnshaw and Dan Mason.

Fifth-placed Pinchbeck A thrashed hosts Deeping Rangers Development 6-2, with Leandro Manuel Silva Borges getting four of them in a stellar individual showing.
