NHS hospital staff being offered free taxis

A taxi firm is offering to take NHS staff from Spalding to work at hospitals within ten miles for free.

Smart Cabs is also offering to pick up food and medication for people.

Workers would need to order the taxis via the firm’s app for between 7am and 11pm, select to pay by cash and then show proof of employment when they get in the taxi.

A spokesman for Smart Cabs said: “This is our way of showing them our gratitude and support.”
