New base for Spalding Volunteer Centre at Tonic Health premises

Spalding Volunteer Centre has moved to Tonic Health’s premises in Westlode Street (behind Job CentrePlus).

The centre, run by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS), provides help and advice regarding all aspects of volunteering – including help to find opportunities across South Holland. It was previously based at South Holland District Council’s offices in Priory Road.

LCVS chief executive David Fannin said: “LCVS and Tonic Health both have a strong interest in advancing health and wellbeing in South Holland and supporting the local community.
“We look forward to developing the already close relationship we have with Tonic Health.”

As well as working with individuals, LCVS South Holland and Spalding Volunteer Centre supports organisations that need or involve volunteers to help find, train and support them. It also supports community groups to find funds, get established and achieve their goals.

Currently in Spalding and South Holland, LCVS is running two schemes offering extra support to certain individuals.
The Guiding Lights scheme recruits both people who would like to act as mentors and additional support to new volunteers and mentees who need extra support to begin volunteering. The Greater Lincolnshire MOVE – ‘Moving On: Volunteering and Employability’ is a three-year project, funded by the Big Lottery and European Social Fund (ESF), aiming to help people into paid work.
