Moulton will head into the new year on top of table

Moulton Harrox will head into the new year with at least a four point cushion at the top of the Chromasport Peterborough and District League Premier Division.

It follows Saturday’s comfortable 3-0 victory at Long Sutton Athletic thanks to two goals from Tom Panton and one from Marucs Parry.

While second placed Netherton won 2-0 at Peterborough Polonia, Moulton will have the chance to extend their lead when they host Ketton this Saturday.

Holbeach United Reserves remain fourth in the table after a 4-3 victory at Oakham United while Tydd FC also won away from home, 2-1 at Whittlesey Athletic.

Sutton Bridge United lost 5-1 at Thorney, Matt Eaton with the consolation for the side who remain in 20th, a point above Long Sutton.

In Division One, Moulton Harrox Reserves leapfrogged Crowland Town into 10th position after winning the clash between the two sides 3-2.

Jake Farrell scored twice for Moulton at home and Martin Sandall completed the victory despite replies from Crowland Town’s Simon Acton and Corban Oldham.

Spalding Town’s match with Stamford Belvedere was abandoned.

Spalding Athletic were left cheesed off in Division Two as they were thrashed 8-2 by league leaders Stilton United.

Athletic kept it close until a glut of goals late on against a Stilton side who are played 13, won 13, scored 66 and conceded just 17.

In Division Three, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves were 4-1 winners at Leverington Sports Reserves.

Scott Pemberton was the hat-trick hero for the visitors with Shane Millar also on the scoresheet.

Holbeach Bank went down 1-0 in their home clash with Thorpe Wood Rangers.

It was a perfect 10 for Holbeach United Sports in Division Four who scored five goals in each half.

Their 10-0 victory at home to Netherton United A came courtesy of five goals from the on fire Jordan Keeble.

Taylor Beveridge also toasted a hat-trick with Ryan Cook and Jack Holland making up the 10.

Sports are second in the table but six points behind comfortable leaders Glinton and Northborough FC who also have a game in hand.
