A South Holland company is set to launch a new website this week for customers to order directly.

The Bridge Farm Group, which has invested £45m is a state-of-the-art growing facility at Clay Lake, is creating an online community – The Growers.

The new site will see a range of plants on offer with more ranges being added throughout the season.

“Customers will be able to purchase spring and summer bedding plants and pre-order varieties still growing in the greenhouse,” said Rebecca Fry, development manager.

“We will look to introduce indoor plants to our range later in the summer,” she added.

The company has 1.5m sq ft of glasshouses just off the A16. The site uses biomass heating and rainwater capture along with advanced robotics to keep costs down.

The site, www.wearethegrowers.co.uk, launches today Thursday (March 11).
