LETTER: What’s stance of local councillors?

Following the recent disgusting and disgraceful behaviour of the Prime Minister and all those working out of the offices at No 10, I would like to address our local councillors, in general, but the two members representing the (my) ward of Whaplode and Holbeach St Johns, in particular.
I would like to publicly canvass your current position(s) with regard to your support for Boris Johnson.
I am aware of the backing for him in the Conservative party leadership contest in July 2019. As you were both elected to office, in May 2019, by reason of a “walkover” election, that is to say, unopposed and bearing in mind that the party leadership contest took place two months later, then it necessarily follows that your support for him was/came after your own “election”.
Although, clearly, the situation of being unopposed is beyond your control and holds much to the apathy of local people, it might be stated in some quarters that you were both “foisted” upon us, and, thereto, your support of him.
Do you still support this ongoing mendacious, almost ostentatious, contempt for the electorate?
I would make particular reference to the fact that one of these councillors holds the ceremonial office of chairman of the council, with all its fawning guidelines issued by SHDC regarding receiving the post-holder at a function, and, therefore, I believe his views to be of some interest.
Are you prepared to state that you distance yourselves from the recently revealed shenanigans, or do you find that your support continues unabated and that your admiration for this individual is unwavering?
Whilst on the subject, I also wonder if Sir John Hayes still stands “four-square” behind him?
I suspect that the silent replies from all concerned will be extremely deafening!
It is now time for the Prime Minister to resign and would hope that all at the local conservative party would back this.
As Caroline Nokes MP stated, he is now seriously damaging “the Tory brand”.
I, too, felt that Boris was going to be a new kind of politics (how right was that!) but, regrettably, he merely became the “greatest rock ‘n’ roll swindle” since the 70s, when the Sex Pistols convinced the world that their playing of the old 12-bar rhythm (think Anarchy in the UK) was a new refreshing style of music!
