LETTER: Four reasons to be cheerful

Here is a letter without grumbles in it.
I find four reasons to be cheerful:

  1. The excellent professional service from a teller in Spalding’s Lloyds bank.
  2. The prettiness of Hedonism’s window display.
  3. The example of the difference between ‘your’, meaning ‘of you, belonging to you’, and ‘you’re’, short for ‘you are’, which can be seen on Wilko’s community board: “Whether you’re selling your car or raising money for charity, here’s the place to let everyone know.”
  4. I found a verse in an album, written about 90 years ago. These are the words: “With work, good cheer and kindliness, And laughter up your sleeve, This queer old world’s not half so bad, As some folk would believe.”
