The exact locations for the clean ups have been decided in consultation with local groups.
Coun Roger Gambba-Jones, SHDC’s portfolio holder for place said: “We were delighted that council recently approved additional funding for our Pride team, who work tirelessly across the district to make it a cleaner, greener and safer space.

“Their work, alongside that of dedicated community groups, is helping to tackle the thoughtless individuals who litter, fly-tip and vandalise without any consideration for their environment or those around them.

“The Great British Spring Clean provides the perfect opportunity for all these groups and volunteers to come together and help make a difference, and ensure that the towns, villages and countryside of South Holland receive the TLC they deserve.”

A spokesman for the district council, said: “The Pride team will be attending the events with specialist cleansing equipment, including sweepers, the Glutton and jet washers.

“This will be alongside their usual work across the district tackling litter and street cleanliness, toilet cleaning, communal collection points, litter and dog bin emptying and working at other untidy sites across the district.

“Areas are being chosen in conjunction with local community groups, who will help to co-ordinate clean-up sites and provide volunteers with equipment during the event.”
