VICTORY: Finn Sargent was the star man.

Finn’s win the bright spot on a tough day for South Holland’s race aces

The big and brutal BriSCA F1 Stock Cars were back in action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena on Saturday.

After the wildly acclaimed season opener at the end of March, it was a big night for them and the Saloon Stock Cars racing in their English Championship.

Spalding was well represented by father and son duo Mark and Finn Sargent, as well as Jim Bamford, racing in the BriSCA F1 Stock Car class.

Finn Sargent went on to win the opening race for the lower-graded racers, with Bamford coming home in eighth spot in the same race.

That is where the luck ended for the F1 racers, with damage and bad luck plaguing the trio for the rest of the night.

Finn Sargent has been in great form this year, picking up a couple of wins around the circuits across the country – so hopefully the youngster will be able to dust himself down and pick himself up soon.

It wasn’t much better in the Saloon Stock Car class as Tom Yould, also from Spalding, came home in fifth spot in his opening race.

Despite his run of good form prior to the meeting, this was his only result of the night.

Up next at the Flux is a big day of “Bangers and Smash” on Bank Holiday Monday from 1pm.

Three banger classes are on the card, topped by the 2L Banger Bandit Memorial, 1500cc Bangers and Reliant Robins. It’ll be a day of thrills, spills and smashed up cars, culminating with two destruction derby events.

If that wasn’t enough, the Ramp Rollover competition returns, too.

Crowland’s Callum White will be in attendance. He excels in the 2 litre Bangers, where he will be one of the favoured drivers on Monday.

White will most likely take home a handful of trophies in the form of Entertainer awards.

In the 1500cc Bangers – smaller cars, but not smaller action – Spalding’s Jon Cullen and Kevan Barton will represent the local area. Both will be looking to get in the mix and pick up some good results.
