Excellent rating after inspection

A Spalding primary school is celebrating after being judged excellent following a school inspection.

A thorough inspection of Ayscoughfee Hall School was carried out in September by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), focusing on the areas of Regulatory Compliance and Educational Quality.

The ISI is the body approved by the Department for Education for the purpose of inspecting schools belonging to the Independent Schools Council and the award of Excellent is the highest possible grade given.

During their time at the school, the inspectors watched lessons across all year groups and all subjects, as well as spending time speaking with children and staff. The attainment of pupils of all ages and abilities was found to be excellent and well above average for their age.

Headteacher Theresa Wright said: “We found the inspection process to be a very positive experience for the school and are delighted with the outcome.

“We know that Ayscoughfee is a special place, but it is wonderful to have the dedication of our children and staff recognised in this way.”

Amongst the many positive points identified by the inspectors were the outstanding attitude to learning and communication skills of the pupils, alongside excellent standards of behaviour due to the school’s values and ethos founded on respect for, and kindness to, others.

Mrs Wright added: “We are extremely proud of our pupils at Ayscoughfee, they are a credit to the school and themselves and the inspection team were clearly able to see this.”
