Donations for the Agape food bank

Spalding’s Agape Food Bank is the latest group to benefit from our Donate A Dinner appeal.

The food bank, which is operated by Chas Sandhu of the Lighthouse Church, will be the beneficiary of any items donated this week.

The Spalding and South Holland Voice teamed up with Coun Harry Drury to launch Donate A Dinner – an appeal which aims to ensure that no child goes hungry while they are unable to access free school meals due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past few months, generous readers and local businesses have supported the appeal, meaning we have been able to distribute food to numerous community groups and individuals.

Coun Drury said: “The generosity shown by the people of South Holland has been humbling.

“We started this campaign to help children who may have otherwise gone hungry and thanks to the amazing support we have received, I think we have made a real difference, so thank you.”

If you would like to make a donation, we have a collection point at Sainsbury’s Spalding store.

We are asking for storecupboard essentials, such as pasta, bread, tinned goods and packet sauces.

From there the donations are collected by Coun Drury who ensures they get to the families who need them most.
