Coleslaw for Kindness Team

A Spalding-based coleslaw manufacturer has donated 2,500 pouches to the town’s COVID Kindness Team.

Naylor Farms, one of Europe’s largest cabbage farms and long-life coleslaw manufacturer, has pledged their support to the team through the supply of 2,500 cheese coleslaw and potato salad food pouches.

These pouches will make up part of food boxes which will be delivered to residents for the next few weeks.

A pack of Naylor’s coleslaw straight off the production line can keep fresh for up to 180 days in the fridge.

Matthew Smith, a member of the Spalding Kindness Team, said: “It’s times like these where you get to see the best of people making a collaborative effort to make sure that no-one in the community is left feeling isolated. It’s a heart-warming thing to witness and to also contribute to.

“Through operations such as the Spalding Kindness Team, we are making a difference ensuring residents are kept fed and have access to other essentials.

“Many businesses have stepped forward to help, meaning we have a steady supply of items coming through the door which we can pack up and ship to the destination.

“Naylor’s is one such company, and it’s great to receive a large delivery of food items which won’t perish any time soon.

“It’s ideal they are based just down the road and have the infrastructure in place to supply products at short notice.”

Simon Naylor, fourth-generation of the Naylor family who have run the farm since it’s conception over 110 years ago, said: “It’s essential that businesses work with their local communities especially during a crisis, to offer help and support to those that need it most.

“After hearing about the hard work, dedication and commitment of Spalding Kindness, the Naylor’s team quickly sat down to discuss the best and most efficient way in which we could help.

“With a large supply of recently produced potato salad and cheese coleslaw pouches, it made sense to donate 2,500 units to the Spalding COVID Kindness Team.”
