Church Life – with Ben Clark, Spalding Baptist Church

What a splendid publication the Voice is! A fresh start in the local press world. I’m sure all of the Voice’s readers would want to wish them well as they embark on their exciting new endeavour.

I am one of the team of deacons at Spalding Baptist Church, and firstly would like to extend an open invitation to all the Voice’s readers to come and join us.

Check us out (www.spaldingbaptist.org), and shatter a few of those myths and mis-conceptions that the world seem to have about the church at large.

We are a welcoming and friendly bunch – not an alien life form, not “boring”, and don’t all wear suits and big hats! (one of our number – mentioning no names, Nick, wears bow ties – which are cool, apparently – and horrific Hawaiian shirts…though, fortunately, not at the same time!)

Our church, located on Swan Street, is growing, full of life and has something for everyone, whether you’re four, 40 or 84!…and we would love to have you join us on Sunday morning at 10.30am or for an evening service at 6.30pm.

The national media often paints a picture that the “Church” is dead, irrelevant, meaningless and doomed to fail.

Well, sorry media, but you are wrong! The concept of Church, and of an eternal God – our Creator, our Protector and Saviour – has stood the test of time and always will do.

Come and join us and be amazed!

What have you got to lose? Nothing.

What have you got to gain? Friendship, camaraderie, a warm welcome, answers to life’s eternal questions, and a REAL meaning to life…in short, everything!

Doesn’t matter who you are, what you have done or where life finds you right now. God loves you, and wants to share an eternal future with you, starting now.

Fancy a fresh start? Come and join us and come and grab one!
