New Holbeach United manager John Chand has revealed that the club will attempt to re-sign as many of 2013 UCL Premier Division title-winning side as possible.

Fan favourite Chand returned to Carter’s Park last Monday – initially as part of a two-man managerial team with  former Wisbech Town chief Steve Appleby, who resigned on yesterday (Wednesday) – and hopes to meet a host of new prospective signings tonight (Thursday).

The only two members of that side that would appear to be out of Holbeach’s reach are former skipper Jamie Stevens and double UCL Premier Division golden boot winner Andrew Tidswell.

Both are under contract with South Holland rivals Spalding United and are very much a part of Pat Rayment’s plans.

But Chand is free to approach the likes of Jonny Allen, Adam Jackson, Andy Toyne, Mitch Griffiths and Craig Parker – and they aren’t being discreet about their interest.

“I’ll make no bones about it, I want all of them back,” said Chand. “Every single player that won the title here is welcome back if they are willing.

“I plan to meet a lot of potential signings on Thursday. It’s important that we get our business done early and discover which players want to come here for the right reasons.

“We don’t want anyone that is just after a pay day.

“But I have to say, the interest from players and people has been brilliant.”

Chand also told The Voice that the door isn’t closed on players who featured under former boss Glen Maddison last season – and admitted that young winger Frazer Bayliss had caught his eye.
