Carpets 2 U – first anniversary offers

When Matthew Featherstone was made redundant from a closing flooring company after eight years, he quickly turned it into a positive.

Twelve months later and his Pinchbeck firm Carpets 2 U is celebrating a promising first year in business. And to mark its first birthday, there are great offers and discounts on top of the usual competitively priced products.

Matthew said: “For the next month I’m giving ten per cent off everything in-store and there’s free underlay available on some orders.

“It’s really to say thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past year.

“There’s different bits and pieces available on various products so I’d encourage anyone thinking about new flooring to pop in or give me a ring to find out more.”

Customers aged 55 or over can also benefit from a regular ten per cent discount which is offered by Carpets 2 U every Wednesday.

Matthew’s philosophy is simple – he relies on high quality customer service.

When Holbeach firm Floorcraft closed early last year, the experienced salesman invested his redundancy money in the new venture and has been delighted that many previous customers were keen to support him.

Carpet 2 U’s showroom at 4 Cresswell Close (just behind Morrisons supermarket) has a big range of samples for customers to compare. There’s free parking.

“As a small business, what I am often available to offer is a better price than the national chains because my overheads are lower and I don’t need to make as much profit,” said Matthew.

“And because I am running the business on my own, another advantage is that you are dealing with me directly.

That means that it will be me that the customer deals with from start to finish – and in the unlikely event that a problem does materialise, I will be able to sort it quickly and effectively.”

Matthew managed to secure the services of two former Floorcraft colleagues as fitters.

Carpets 2 U is able to offer supply and fit domestic and light contract customers a wide range of products including carpets, hard flooring, cushion flooring and designer flooring.

The measuring and estimating service is free and the professional fitting service includes uplift of old carpets and moving furniture.

For anyone not able to visit the showroom during the opening hours of Monday to Friday 9.30am-5pm and Saturdays 9.30am-4pm, Matthew offers a home select service, including out of office hours.
