Camera club skills on show

Are you a dab hand with a camera or want to improve your skills alongside likeminded people? A camera club’s April events might put it all in focus.

The Spalding Photographic Society’s season has just wrapped up and as usual its members are celebrating with an exhibition of more than 40 photographs at the Geest Gallery, Ayscoughfee Hall, from April 3 until April 28.

On Saturday, April 6, the group will also hold the official opening at 10am-4pm, during which people interested in joining or finding out more about the group’s activities can meet current members.

A group spokesman said: “Spalding Photographic Society consists of photography enthusiasts of all levels of ability and experience. Our aim is to enjoy the hobby and improve our skills through sharing knowledge and organised events in a friendly and positive environment.”

“The club runs from September through to April and meets at the Castle Outdoor Bowls Club, Albion Street, Spalding. In the summer months, we also organise group events and visits for more practical experience.”

Also this month, the club will hold a practical photography session at Ayscoughfee, “encompassing the gardens and architectural features”.

The session runs from 11am to 1pm.
