Anniversary provides food bank boost

Two couples celebrating wedding anniversaries have raised money for a charity food bank.

One of the couples, Barbara and Tony Button, were celebrating their 60th anniversary.

They held a joint party in Sutton St James with their daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Danial English, who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.

Together they raised £1,500 for Long Sutton Food Larder.

The family welcomed more than 200 guests to help raise money for the larder which is organised by St Mary’s Church.

The guests’ kind donations will help to provide food to families and individuals in the local community who are in crisis.

Both couples said they would like to express their heartfelt thanks to family and friends who helped them to organise and celebrate their wedding anniversaries, and also made generous donations.
